Job Summary | The Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture Food and Environment, 4-H unit seeks an energetic self-motivated candidate that possesses a strong work ethic with skills in leadership and communication for their Extension Associate for the Kentucky 4-H Agricultural programs, as well as, animal programs, companion animal programs, food science and many other agriculture related programs. This individual will work to represent the UK Cooperative Extension Service 4-H Agricultural Programs with internal and external partners as needed. This position ensures that opportunities for youth to engage in agriculture programs are accessible for ALL youth across Kentucky. The 4-H unit is known for working well as a team, and the Extension Associate for 4-H Youth Agriculture Programs is a valuable member. The position helps to ensure the success of the unit by being responsible for the Kentucky 4-H Agriculture Programs, 4-H Agriculture, Animals, animal food sciences, Curriculum and Design, and collaborating with the Animal and Food Sciences Department along with other 4-H personnel on the Kentucky 4-H Animal and Food Sciences Volunteer Certification. This position will have great interaction, cooperation, and coordination with the Animal Food Sciences Department. The Extension Associate position is located in Lexington, KY, with some travel in-state and out-of-state for workshops and conferences. Requires a valid driver’s license and completion of the 12-passenger van training. This position includes excellent benefits and provides opportunities for professional development. Willingness to learn positive youth development principles. Customer service and coaching skills. Driving skills with up to 12 passengers.
