Job Description:

Multiple projects are available immediately for a recent PhD graduate to pursue cellular and molecular immunology research in a rodent model of malaria. Basic immunological mechanisms of the protective immune response will be explored. The post-doc-toral fellow will lead research on adaptive immunity to mouse malaria. Projects focus on memory T cell differentiation and development of clinical immunity in Plasmodium chabaudi infection. Tools include T cell receptor transgenic mice, adoptive transfer and spectral flow cytometry. For more background see: Gbedande K, Carpio VH and Stephens R, 2020; Opata MM and Stephens R, 2013. Rutgers New Jersey Medical School Center for Immunity and Inflammation is two floors of open space labs with a thriving research community focused on cutting-edge in vivo immunobiology of infectious disease. The selected candidate will be expected to play a proactive and collaborative role in the laboratory and develop and pursue an independent research project. A recent PhD in Immunology, your enthusiasm for the research area, and a publication record in the field of immunology are required. Experience in in vivo T cell biology or single cell RNAseq and bioinformatics is preferred.
