We are seeking a Senior Product Engineer to lead our Product Engineering Program in solar module manufacturing facilities in Minnesota, USA. The Product Engineer will contribute to the development of new material and new product qualification plans and will have the responsibility to manage all aspects of Product Engineering work at the factory. 

This is a unique opportunity for a highly skilled, experienced, and motivated individual to join a team that is developing solutions to tackle the climate crisis with strong development and manufacturing presence in North America. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Development of new material and new product qualification plans and management of prototype trials at US factories.  
  • Development of requirements for incoming, in-process, outgoing inspection, testing, and monitoring.  
  • Development of test requirements, set up engineering test laboratories, monitoring of test programs, and performance of testing.  
  • Monitoring of material and product quality programs.  
  • Development of process recipes and equipment requirements that meet product requirements.  
  • Working collaboratively with Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to conduct tasks in the factory.  
  • Analysis of large sets of data and presentation synthesized information to internal and external teams.  
  • Preparation and presentation of reports to engineering and management teams. 

Minimum Qualifications: 

PhD or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or related field, minimum five years' experience in the solar industry or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. 

  • Hands-on experience of solar module manufacturing.   
  • Hands-on experience of testing solar components at material, module, and system level. 
  • Deep understanding of solar materials and solar module quality, performance, and reliability.  
  • Direct experience of working with suppliers of materials and products in the solar industry. 
  • Strong knowledge of certification, safety, and compliance of solar materials, modules, and systems. 
  • Strong knowledge of solar industry trends, solar products, and solar systems.  
  • Highly skilled in one or more programming languages, lab tools, data analytics, and analysis. 
  • Strong communication skills with ability to work cross collaboratively. 
  • Must have a valid passport and able to travel to Canada.
