We are one of 23 agencies created by the state of Georgia to provide a safety net of care for Behavioral Health, Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities (IDD), and Substance Use/Abuse.View Point Health proudly provides outpatient, inpatient, and community treatment to children, adolescents and adults. We promote overall health and quality of life through treatment services (evidenced-based therapies and medication management) that reduce the impact of mental illness, behavior challenges, and substance use/abuse for individuals, youth and families.

Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse assesses client health problems and needs. Develops and implements nursing care plans and maintains medical records. Administers nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled clients. May advise clients on health maintenance and disease prevention or provide case management.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Registered Nurse provides nursing assessments andmedication management for adults with behavioral health or substance abuse disorders. Services aredesigned to treat the acutely distressed consumer in the community with no delay, preventing hospitalization, incarceration, or other placements.Performs a biopsychosocial and physical nursing assessment and uses theinformation to develop a preliminary nursing plan.In conjunction with the psychiatrist, administers anyinitial and ongoing medications prescribed.Works with the clients and other members of the team todevelop and implement a comprehensive individual service plan that includes nursing care andmedication management.Evaluates client care and progress to ensure immediate attention to changingmedical treatment needs.Provides to the client and family members as needed, information about management of medication,complications, and side effects.May teach in an individual or group setting behavioral symptomsmanagement techniques to alleviate and manage symptoms not reduced by medication and/or adaptation/coping techniques for internal and external stresses.In collaboration with the psychiatrist, coordinates schedule and administers medical assessments ofclients' physical health.Makes appropriate referrals to community physician for further assessment andcoordinates psychiatric and medical treatment.Maintain medical records and complies with third party payer requirements for documentation andauthorizations.Provides accurate and timely documentation of charts in a computerized record system.Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university OR Associate's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university AND current Georgia license as a Registered Professional Nurse AND any related professional work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
Significant nursing experience with adults with severe and persistent mental illnesses and/or addictive diseases.Knowledge of experience in use of the Assertive Community Treatment ModelNursing experienceExperience working in a high stress, fast-paced environment with a very emotionally and physically changing population.Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams.Ability to multi-task and manage time.

Requirements/Competencies:
Must be able to lift 20 pounds.Requires long periods of sitting/standing.Must have valid Georgia drivers license and Motor Vehicle Record in accordance with company policy.Candidates for selection must pass a criminal background check (including fingerprinting)Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and subject to random drug screens.Any combination of training and experience, which would have enabled the applicant to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities Note: Some positions may require a valid driver's license.Other duties as assigned.
