Position Overview

SUMMARY: The Lead Installer position works with the installation team to install new Pella windows and doors in new construction and/or replacement applications. Strives to maintain 100% "Very Satisfied" customers. Must be able to work well in a team environment. Assigned tasks may vary based on business necessity.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES include but are not limited to:

Lead installation crew and hold team accountable for safety, quality, and productivity
Maintaining all trucks, trailers, tools, equipment, & stock
Communication with customers when on-site & about any installation issues and/or details
Drives team to achieve FTC (First time complete) within allotted time on installation calendar
Completing and turning in all paperwork associated with an install or crew in a timely manner
Communication with Dylan and Jake from site and at the end of every day before dismissing crews
Looking ahead and loading in advance - goal is always to be ahead of any issues/concerns
Other duties as business needs require
Responsible for ensuring a great customer experience at all touch points. Develops and implements processes that ensure consistent and professional installation to all customers
Reads work order form and other specifications to determine method of installation, work procedures, and material, tool, and work aid requirements
Secures windows and doors to walls/openings, according to the installation guidelines published
Ensures installation team cleans job site after installation
Communicates effectively with customers and serves as a reputable Pella representative on all jobsites
Demonstrates a commitment to the highest quality of work
Performs installation recovery work following installations
Meets company safety requirements by keeping work area neat and clean, following safety precautions and wearing required safety apparel (i.e. shoes, safety glasses, fall protection, etc.), and reporting any safety issues to Supervisor
Ensures all aspects of the "Pella Experience" that the Sales team sells actually happens on each project

Responsibilities / Accountabilities

General construction applications and terminology knowledge required
Basic tool usage and safety
Strong problem-solving skills
Seeks out internal experts and utilizes their knowledge
Adaptable to changing processes and priorities
Valid driver's license required
Experience with carpentry, siding/coil-work and caulking is desirable.

Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $20.00 to $25.00 hr

Skills / Knowledge

5 years Window & door applications and components knowledge preferred
Must be able to develop an expert level understanding of all Pella products and their applications

Expert level understanding of local and state building codes/compliance regulations. Ability to utilize product performance specifications to understand product application and limitations.
Must have proficient problem-solving abilities and the ability to think on their feet in order to Complete the job at hand.
Must exhibit superior communication skills and the ability to maintain professionalism in times of great adversity and pressure
Works collaboratively and creates a sense of trust and reliability with internal team and customers
Demonstrates a strong work ethic, flexible about hours, responsive to customer needs, willing to be available
Champion of change and innovation within organization
Focused on details and follow through
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and smart devices, and ability to learn internal Pella software programs and applications


Qualifications

Education and / or Experience
Two years of successful installation experience; or five to ten years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language and Communication Skills
Excellent verbal and written English language skills are required as well as good public relations, public speaking, instructional/teaching, and customer service skills. Ability to read, interpret, understand and explain documents such as company policies and benefits. Ability to effectively present information to others, gather information from others, and respond appropriately to questions from employees, managers, co-workers, agents, customers, and the general public. Must be able to listen, assess and diagnose hidden meanings, and empathize. Must be able to resolve conflict in the best interests of the business and our customers. Must display excellent phone and email etiquette, and the ability to communicate in a professional manner. Must be able to make eye contact and present appropriate persona for the situation when interacting with fellow employees or waiting on a customer/visitor in person on a regular and consistent basis.
