Position Summary:
Provide leadership to the employees (instructors) in the education department. This position provides quality delivery of
assigned courses using the appropriate methods, including teaching, tutoring, and lecturing. In addition, this position
maintains a high student retention rate based on Company, regulatory, and accreditation guidelines. This position must
evaluate and assist in the resolution of student issues and problems, and take appropriate action to the satisfaction of the
student and in compliance with the policies, procedures and legal requirements of the company and/or regulatory
agencies. This position also provides leadership for program review, including process improvement and program
development, systematic assessment of student progress, and learning outcomes.


Essential Responsibilities:
• Conduct classroom observations and surveys. Review the results with faculty, students, the Academic
Dean/Director of Education, and staff as appropriate.
• Monitor faculty/course attendance and set proactive measures, if applicable.
• Maintain an inventory of all equipment, book supplies, and training aids, and course materials within the
respective program.
• Assists Director of Training, or Dean of Education, with ordering required supplies and equipment for
program.
• Assist in ensuring that all instructors are present, and that adequate provisions are made for classes affected
by faculty absences.
• Assist instructors on delivery methods that address students’ different learning styles.
• Mentor and provide oversight of initial training for new instructors.
• Assist with scheduling instructors to assigned classes, ensure instructor are meeting scheduled hoursaccording to status, either FT or PT.
• Assists in participating in bi-annual PAC (program advisory committee) meetings.
• Assist with faculty recruitment, hiring, orientation, professional development, evaluation, and management.
• Prepare and organize the lesson materials, equipment, and training areas.
• Teach classes where appropriate (see instructor job description).
• Enforce and support school policies and procedures, advise instructors as necessary.
• Assist in providing tutoring schedules and office hours to Student Services.
• Helps to develop suggestions for executive review that might improve and streamline policies, standards,
practices, processes, protocols, rules, guidelines, and other directives.
• Conduct monthly classroom and laboratory inspections, noting and addressing any physical facility
maintenance needs.
• Be available to offer assistance to students needing short term tutoring. Consult with Director of Training, or
Dean of Education in cases in which it is identified that a student needs more extensive tutor attention.
• Work with students to resolve any concerns they may have, or when necessary, direct them to the party best
suited to assist them.
• Meet key metrics associated with student and program retention and outcomes.
• Where appropriate, communicate all changes to curriculum, books, and supplies. Contribute to the curriculum
review process, making suggestions and collecting information from instructors.
• Where applicable, assist and coordinate externship or internship site visits with instructional staff.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Other Responsibilities
• Instructor training and development: Confer regularly with the Director of Training (or Dean of Education)
regarding an instructor trainee’s progress.
• Printed material, classroom supplies and tools: Teach new instructors how to request and order material,
supplies and tools.
• Time commitment: May require work on evenings and weekends in order to meet business needs. Fill in for
faculty absences when needed.
• Maintains current knowledge about experiential learning, industry-demanded skills, technical developments in
the field, and in-demand soft skills.
• Leadership: Be willing to assume the duties of the Director of Training, to assure continuity in his/her absence
during vacation and etc.


Required Knowledge, Education and Experience:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The

High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of five years of field experience. Must meet all minimum state licensing
requirements in regards to relevant field experience. Must be able to teach all phases of the program.

securing that information at all times.


COMPUTER SKILLS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of and prior experience with Microsoft Word,
Excel, Outlook, and internet basics.


Physical Environment:
• Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment
• Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at a desk or computer terminal
• Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone and other office equipment
• Stooping, bending twisting, and reaching may be required
• Some work may be completed in classroom or shop environment
