Job Description:

What will you do?

  • Directs and supervises material planning and material movements. Manages stockroom and external warehouse, as well as logistics (shipping and receiving), customer support, and customer responsiveness activities.

  • Enhance safety culture in the department and support initiatives to improve safety across the business.

  • Responsible for achieving targets on key metrics: Medical Incident Rate, Inventory Value & Accuracy, Back Order Value, Productivity & Ontime Delivery.

  • Responsible for maintaining realistic and attainable production schedules to support customer requirements and plant revenue goals.

  • Responsible for creating a team environment aimed at supporting customer requirements and expectations while maintaining profitability.

  • Drives employee engagement.

  • Manages JDE, materials management system (MRP).

  • Must be knowledgeable in all aspects of material management.

  • Responsible for all quality related issues as they pertain to this position.

  • Completes all other tasks as defined by the Plant Manager.

  • Must be able to work effectively in a high activity/high visibility environment

  • All production planning / scheduling of finished products.

  • Completion and issuance of all production shop packets.

  • Serve as escalation point on all customer service / customer responsiveness actions.

  • Manage shipping and logistics activities.

  • Prepare and evaluate monthly shipment commitments and month end updates.

  • All material movements along with necessary transactions - including, but not limited to:

    • Material Handling along with supervision of material handlers.

    • Inventory accuracy.

    • Location audits.

    • Movement of material to and from Leased Warehouse and Auxiliary Warehouse.



  • Conducting annual physical inventory.

  • ABC coding

  • Definition and maintenance of material delivery reports between Reynosa and Welcome.

  • Maintenance of branch plant relationships.

  • Directly manages supervisors and salaried materials employees.

  • Provide leadership and direction.

  • Budget control responsibility.

  • Must maintain good shop floor communications and conduct monthly meetings.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field plus minimum of 3 years related experience.

  • Working knowledge of MRP/ERP, preferably AS400, SAP or JDE and inventory principles in a manufacturing environment.

  • Must have experience in planning, purchasing, and inventory control.

  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills - written and verbal.

  • Must be detail oriented and results driven.

  • Ability to manage many issues/projects at the same time and effectively direct associates within departments of responsibility.

  • Self-motivated and servant leader.
