Flex is a leader in this space with the global basket of capabilities, corporate footprint and tech advanced industry 4.0 capabilities to help set the tone for the next generation of EMS. In short, there has never been a better time to be at Flex!

The Corporate Strategy Special Projects Senior Director role is a fantastic opportunity within Flex. This highly dynamic, fast paced, and exciting role contributes across a wide range of areas for the business, generally tackling challenges and optimizing for growth. You will report to Flex’s Chief Strategy Officer and be a key advisor as the team helps shape the vision for Flex’s horizon 1, 2 and 3 business endeavors, and through the market positioning described above, the EMS/Supply Chain industry.

The core responsibilities of the role will be to manage cross-flex initiatives (special projects) that include a variety of commercial and operational groups across the company. The successful candidate will need to bring together seasoned senior leaders together and create a unified vision. Leading these cross-functional groups through influence during the course of multi-quarter projects is a key skillset necessary for this role. You will have the opportunity to work across all areas of the business from Sales, Marketing and Sustainability to finance, manufacturing operations, M&A, legal, and more. You will work as a trusted advisor to business leaders and collaborate across all levels of the organization to drive the most effective strategies for growth, pulling together a cohesive strategic narrative from business components. We are looking for a “measured strategic storyteller” to help us deliver business strategy with a talent for artful storytelling, derived from data & research and pull together disparate stakeholders to a common end.

You will have the chance to develop strategies, but also be deployed succinctly into the business to help drive the necessary transformation or integration of initiatives. This role is a unique opportunity for a person with a dynamic skillset of strategic acumen and business/interpersonal capability to lead strategic ideas from end-to-end and own the outcomes of their work. In addition, you will have the chance to grow your skillset in strategic design as well as gain operating experience and develop leadership capabilities.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Serve as a collaborator and trusted advisor to senior executives on their strategic agendas. You will prepare and deliver presentations, findings, and recommendations, often presenting to the C-Suite and CEO as well as prepare materials for Board conversations. Here you will lead a portfolio of high-profile/high-impact projects, including the CEO’s top focus areas.

  • Work closely with the Chief Strategy Officer and key stakeholders across the company to identify and prioritize the most critical cross-organizational initiatives through market analysis, customer and vendor conversations and industry expert collaboration.

  • Help build and execute strategy from paper to reality, working across organizations, business leaders and stakeholders to create and employ mechanisms for “unified execution” across a global company of ~160,000 employees

  • Leading end to end planning and delivery of comprehensive longterm projects focusing on the most pressing and robust cross-Flex opportunities within the company.

  • Organic Growth Strategy - Lead completion of high-quality business, market, and competitor analysis and prioritization and new growth ideas; help identify and assess existing and new market initiatives and frame complex decisions and insights as well as identify passive and active risks. You will learn and opine on new technologies and winning companies within those surrounding global tech markets for Flex to bet its customer acquisition strategies on.

  • Inorganic Growth Strategy - Merger and acquisition strategy, capability and gap assessment, target screening and outreach, due-diligence, and integration support

  • The growth and personal development of our team and team culture are very important to the strategy team. As such you will help coach and develop talent in and around the strategy organization to maximize the value of the Flex experience, by fostering a culture of success, collaboration, comradery, empathy, inclusion, and fun
