Responsibilities

What you'll be challenged to do:

We are seeking a Registered Professional Electrical Engineer (PE) with significant experience in control and power systems design and inspection for movable bridges. The qualifying Professional Engineer will be responsible for quality, design, and review of movable bridge electrical design and inspection services.

 

 

General Duties & Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


  • Responsible for overall supervision and quality of assigned projects.

  • Assures that the project is completed within the allocated period of time and within the budget that has been assigned.

  • Controls project plan by approving design, specifications, plans, and schedules changes.

  • Provides team leadership. Plans, organizes, and supervises the work of staff engineers and technicians.

  • Mentors other employees.

  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

  • Initiates and maintains extensive contracts with key people to other organizations in the movable bridge industry.

Qualifications

What you bring to our firm:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering

  • Experience with at least three movable bridge electrical control systems within the last 10 years

  • Experience with the commonly used bridge leaf motion-control techniques used within the last 30 years

  • Minimum 15 years movable bridge control systems Electrical Engineering experience

  • Registered as a licensed Professional Engineer

  • Ability to become a licensed Professional Engineer in other states, as needed

  • Willing and able to travel as required for national movable bridge projects

What we’d prefer for you to bring to our firm:


  • Moveable bridge inspection experience

  • Railroad moveable bridge experience

For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in California, Colorado, or NY City, TranSystems is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; internal peer equity; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At TranSystems, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $100,000-$150,000.
