Job Description:

Another Source’s client, Fresno State University, is recruiting a Director of Development to join their team in Fresno, CA.

 

As the Director of Business Development, you will leverage your sales or marketing expertise to lead fundraising efforts in support of the University, focusing on identifying, cultivating, and soliciting major and principal gifts from individuals, corporations, and foundations. You will serve as a key liaison with various campus units, fostering collaboration and ensuring strategic alignment in fundraising efforts.  Your successful fundraising efforts and community collaborations will help drive innovation in research and learning, preparing students to be catalysts for change.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and secure major gifts through comprehensive prospect research, strategic cultivation efforts, and proposal development.
  • Utilize sales techniques to cultivate relationships with philanthropic partners, assess their capacity and interest, and steward relationships to ensure ongoing support.
  • Occasionally organize and present special events designed to engage prospective philanthropic partners, utilizing marketing strategies to maximize attendance and impact.
  • Collaborate with volunteer leaders and boards to engage them in the mission of the College, applying communication skills to effectively convey the College's goals and impact.
  • Occasionally manage college-based solicitations and special campaigns, interfacing with internal partners on strategies and scripts for solicitation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required, with a minimum of four years of successful fundraising experience or transferable skills such as sales, marketing, or public relations.
  • Experience with a nonprofit organization, demonstrating an understanding of philanthropic principles and practices a plus.
  • Familiarity with a CRM (Customer Relationship Management) solution.

*The anticipated yearly salary range for this position is: $80,000 - $92,000 based on experience.
