Job Description:

Definition: As part of the ATCAA team, the Food Bank Operations Coordinator plays an essential role in ATCAA. The ATCAA Food Bank Operations Coordinator is responsible to the Food Bank Director for efficient day-to-day coordination of all Food Bank operations. To accomplish this goal, the Food Bank Operations Coordinator will work closely with the Food Bank Logistics Coordinator, Food Bank Operations Assistants, and Food Bank Manager as well as the training and supervision of Food Bank operational volunteers in delivering services to various Food Bank programs including but not limited to local pantries, EFAP, Food For Kids (Kids Club), Senior and Homebound Delivered Foods, Distributions, and Holiday Baskets as well as Food Bank events.

Supervises: Food Bank warehouse volunteers necessary to complete assigned tasks including gleaners, drivers, and warehouse assistants.
Job Duties and Responsibilities Related to This Position:
Supervise coordination of all warehouse operations, including but not limited to: safe food handling procedures according to local, state and program regulations, acquisitions, receiving, stocking, inventory, rotating, palletizing and other activities in preparation of foods for shipping to distribution sites or food pantries;Work closely with logistics & operational staff in coordinating food program distributions including preparation of foods for distribution, transportation of foods, and arranging volunteer schedules as needed; Work closely with logistics & operational staff in coordinating distribution of foods to emergency food pantries, including in-house inventory and off-site drop shipments, pantry schedules and services;Assure completion of necessary data and/or program documentation, including but not limited to logs, acquisition and distribution forms; account reconciliations and schedules;Assists in creating summaries of operational data collected including poundage reports, operational volunteer summaries, pantry, or program inventories, receiving and distribution summaries, and waste out summaries;Assists with the creation of orders from government and private food sources, bids, and procurement for purchased foods;Reconcile pantry and program accounts weekly to stay in compliance with Feeding America and TEFAP. Daily entry in Inventory management systems like Soxbox;Coordinate food, facility, equipment, and vehicle maintenance including inventories, arranging for repairs as needed, and maintaining necessary logs;Oversight of all operational workplans and schedules to accomplish shipping, receiving, storage, and inventory duties;Provide operational support for all Food Bank events;Keep Food Bank Director apprised of all operational activities and of communications from other programs, agencies, distribution sites or other community contacts;Maintain supplies as necessary for smooth operations, including obtaining quotes (coordinate with Food Bank Director) and inventory of supplies.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
Demonstrate and encourage a professional and positive attitude in all job related activities.Maintain confidentiality in accordance with standards as outlined in the Statement of Confidentiality and Ethics.Accomplish all work activities in a safe and timely manner within assigned guidelines and consistent with ATCAAs Personnel Policies and Operating Procedures.Report and/or correct deficiencies that constitute immediate threats to health and safety;Complete other tasks as assigned by the supervisor which are consistent with the definition and intent of the job description.Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with ATCAAs Personnel Policies. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and reviewing work; problem solving; appraising performance, both formally and informally.Act as Safety Officer which can include but is not limited to, writing up and reporting accidents, violations, and provide weekly safety meetings (shorts.)Participate in providing information to the Food Bank Director for evaluations for operations employees.
Minimum Qualifications:
Meet the following requirements necessary for this position: possess a valid California drivers license and an acceptable driving record;Experience with warehouse operations and procedures, including inventory and maintenance;Knowledge of safe food handling procedures, and ability to become Safe Food Certified;Ability to operate a forklift and power equipment and to be certified in their operation;Ability to work well with public and volunteers;Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team;Ability to do math calculations accurately;Ability to lift 60 pounds;Ability to drive any truck in our fleet;Demonstrated skill with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Desired Qualifications:
Demonstrated organizational skills (i.e. creating schedules, managing documents for reporting, etc.);Follow verbal and written instructions. Keep accurate written records.Have good computer, oral and written communication skills;Safe food certification; (get this within 30 days of start);Experience with volunteer management and supervision;Experience with vehicle and facility maintenance;Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task with many interruptions.
