Job Description

A banner enterprise of the Tulane Department of Neurology is the Healthy Brain Aging Initiative (HBAI). This initiative, located at University Medical Center, includes a dedicated team of neurologists, neuropsychologists/psychometrists, advanced practice providers, social workers, and neuroscientists, aiming to promote healthy brain aging through its Center for Alzheimer's Prevention, its Center for Memory Disorders, and its Center for Parkinson's Disease. Through their partnership with LCMC Health, Tulane and LSU Neurology faculty are collaborating to build the region's only multi-institutional healthy brain aging initiative, and the largest and most comprehensive program in the Gulf South region.This is a clinical and research position. It is estimated that the Nurse Practitioner will dedicate 90% effort to clinical practice (outpatient based) and 10% effort to administrative and scholarly activities, though the FTE distributions may vary slightly over time as needed.Roles and responsibilities include:§  Providing continuity of care and lifestyle coaching to asymptomatic and cognitively normal patients at risk for Alzheimer's disease.§  Providing continuity of care and lifestyle coaching to patients with memory disorders including: subjective cognitive impairment, mild cognitive impairment, dementia (Alzheimer's disease, vascular dementia, Lewy body dementia, frontotemporal dementia), primary progressive aphasia, posterior cortical atrophy, and other neurocognitive and neurobehavioral disorders.§  Providing continuity of care and lifestyle coaching to patients with Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders.§  Serve on institutional and departmental committees, actively participate in departmental conferences such as Neurology Grand Rounds, Morbidity & Mortality Conference, and faculty meetings, and participate in clinical research studies. Tulane seeks a provider who cares for patients under the direction of Tulane neurology physicians in compliance with standards of practice and regulations of government agencies. Qualifications and Skills

Required -  State of Louisiana License as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN).Eligible for Louisiana Prescriptive Authority as outlined by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing
