Position Summary

Ensures the shipping department documentation is accurate and maintained and provides information to the outbound truck drivers as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintains all documentation for shipping and ensures that it is accurate.
• Validates orders are complete and ready to ship.
• Runs and invoices shipments from the Springfield location.
• Scans signed bill of ladings to Milford
• Completes Fed Ex and UPS shipments
• Properly communicates with the truck drivers picking up loads
• Works safety to prevent on-the job injuries by following Buckhorn policies and OSHA standards.
• Completes other duties as may be assigned.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); required
• Minimum of two years warehouse and/or shipping experience; required
• Forklift certification (preferred)
• Computer proficiency (Word and Excel); required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of Warehouse and Shipping operations, methods, and practices. Knowledge of Bar Code Technology and Electronic Data Interchange.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
• Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively with coworkers and supervision.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to do two mathematical operations to arrive at the solution.

REASONING ABILITY:
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is primarily indoors with heating and cooling regulated in a general office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually low. The employee is rarely exposed to moving mechanical parts.
