Toth & Associates, Inc. (TOTH) is hiring a Transmission Line Project Engineer. The primary duties of a Project Engineer include partnership with the Project Manager to maintain scope, schedule, and budget of the project. The Project Engineer is also responsible for technical execution of high-voltage transmission line and distribution projects of any size, complexity, and shall meet TOTH and client quality standards.
Thorough knowledge of transmission and distribution line design, including project feasibility, routing analysis, environmental support and identifying concerns, structure framing and hardware development, foundation analysis and design is required. Candidate should be self-sufficient at performing all design aspects required to complete the design of a transmission or distribution line in accordance with all applicable codes and standards, including all the policies and procedures, such as safety, environmental, quality assurance, and quality control.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Write project proposals, validate details, estimation, and tracking
Structure performance drawings for vendor procurement purposes
Develop bid and construction packages
Assist with and answer construction RFIs
Follow industry best practices
BSCE, BSME or BSEE from an ABET-accredited engineering program is required
4+ years of experience in transmission line design
6+ years of overall experience, including prior project management
High voltage transmission line design experience, 69kV to 230kV
Solid working knowledge of the PLS-CADD suite of design software tools and well-versed in the design of wood and steel structures
EIT certification
PE license or able to obtain a PE license within 6 months of hire
Proficiency with the following programs: PLS-CADD Suite, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office (especially Excel and MS Project)
Proficiency in writing and providing support documentation for engineering calculations; review and design power transmission lines facilities per applicable codes, standards, and specifications
Ability to prepare procurement packages for engineered steel poles and review applicable vendor calculations and shop drawings
Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple projects under budget and time constraints
Experience tracking project information such as schedules and expenditures against budgets, preparing status reports and client interface
