Position Summary
The Computerized Tomography Technologist/Radiologic Technologist operates Computerized Tomography and Radiologic equipment to produce Diagnostic C.T. scans and diagnostic radiographs. Ensures all aspects of patients records are processed properly to initiate procedure results in a timely manner. Evaluates images with Radiologist if necessary, takes additional images as needed or requested.

Essential Job Functions/Accountabilities

Reviews radiology requisition and physician order to ensure proper procedure is performed; Performs C.T. scan procedures, and Diagnostic imaging as ordered. Following ALARA Standards.

Instructs patient regarding procedures and preps. Positions patient correctly.

Proper screening of patients before procedure.

Provides safe administration of IV contrast media. Monitors patient for reaction and/or complications. Communicates wet/stat reading results to physician offices or ordering physician.

Maintains and performs quality control testing on C.T./Radiographic equipment. Effectively records the requested C.T. Scans and diagnostic images. Verifies images in PACs system for interpretation.

Handles infectious waste, contaminated instruments, linens and surfaces properly. Assessment of equipment error, contracts appropriate vendor for service, and maintains proper equipment logs. Notifies proper departments, and management when C.T. and/or Radiographic equipment is not operational.

All other duties not specifically assigned.

Position Requirements

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.

Experience: Three (3) to Five (5) years of demonstrated experience in field or profession preferred.

Technical Skills: Knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology; Knowledge of Medical Terminology; Knowledge of sterile techniques. Basic computer skills are required.

Certifications/Licenses/Registrations: Registered through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Licensed in the State of Ohio. BLS required. Computerized Tomography Certification with the ARRT.
