Job Description:

Environmental Asbestos Technician (Tech I)

PSI, an Intertek company, is searching for an Environmental Asbestos Technician to join our Building & Constructionteam in our Tampa, Florida office. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow a versatile career in the environmental, engineering, and construction industry!

What you'll do:

• Perform field sampling of asbestos and other indoor air quality media as part of site assessment and remediation activities on projects as directed by senior team members.
• Perform Field Documentation / Limited Report Preparation
• Maintain Training Records / Field Instrumentation / Certifications (will provide training updates)
• Participate in all QA/QC programs as appropriate and Safety Programs
• Perform other non-typical assignments upon availability as assigned by management.

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (required) / Associates Degree or 2-year Technical Degree - preferred
• 1+ years of previous experience in asbestos, lead-based paint, and mold inspecting, sampling, and assessment (required)
• OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER Training (required)
• EPA/AHERA Asbestos Inspector Certification - preferred / Asbestos Supervisor, Lead - a plus
• Computer Literate: Good oral and written communication skills (required)
• Electrical and mechanical knowledge of HVAC equipment and systems, environmental remediation, and consulting - preferred.
• Knowledge of IH and practical environmental concepts, principles, and practices - preferred
• Must be able to climb ladders and lift, move, push, and pull items with weights in excess of 30 pounds multiple times as needed to complete project requirements (required)
• Must be able to work off shifts and overtime and willing to work out of town occasionally for 2-3 days/month (required).
• Valid Driver's License and reliable driving record (required)
