BUSINESS UNIT: TERMINALS
Kinder Morgan is the largest independent terminal operator in North America, providing a strong, reliable network of 144 terminals serving our customers' storage, distribution, blending and logistical needs. Our terminals store and handle renewable fuels, petroleum products, chemicals, vegetable oils and other products. We have a combined liquids storage capacity of approximately 151 million barrels and handle about 59 million tons of dry bulk materials annually.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIE:
• Operates heavy equipment to gouge out, level, and distribute petroleum coke from inbound conveyors, storage and to outbound conveyors in a safe and efficient manner by performing the following duties.
• Operates D-9 Dozer with concave blade attached across front to gouge out, level, and distribute petroleum coke from conveyor to storage - storage to re-claimer in a safe, efficient manner.
• Drive bulldozer in successive passes over terrain to raise or lower terrain to specified level. Employ dozer day and night to push material to dozer trap in order to load out material for vessels.
• Operate front end loader, bobcat, man-lift, and track hoe.
• Operates 345/385 track hoe with a clam shell bucket in order to dig petroleum coke from a hopper barge and transfer it over to a mobile hopper/conveyor system to be placed into storage. Operate track how from an elevated position in order to dig cake fines from a rail car to dump truck.
• Maintain dozer, skid steer, forklift, track hoe, back hoe, and wheel loader equipment by performing preventive maintenance, i.e.: lubricating, cleaning, adding gear lubricants, changing filters and documenting all activity performed on said piece of equipment.
• Operates a 924/972/980 wheel loader to scrape clean the pocket of a hopper barge, dig and load petroleum coke into a conveyor hopper while simultaneously synchronizing movements with other wheel loaders. Requires the ability to cut and grade material as necessary for miscellaneous projects on/and around terminal.
• Experience operating a wheel back hoe, fork lift, skid steer, and man lift. Must be capable of becoming a certified operator on each piece of equipment.
• Train on remote controlled ship loader by engaging push buttons on the remote to distribute coke accordingly to stowage plan and ships chief mate instructions. Ensure satisfactory loading of the vessel and watch for safety of the ship loader during operation.
Position Requirements

• High school/GED; or up to one year related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
• Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
• Train to Operator D-9 Dozer and other heavy Equipment, i.e.: Front-end loader, Bobcat, Manlift, and Track-hoe
• In order to appropriately perform the essential duties of this job, regular work attendance is required.
• Able to carry out supervisors instructions.
• Self motivated.
• Safety in performance of duties common to the position.
• Ability to work with others.
• Must possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator's license and have willingness to use personal and/or company vehicle in the course of employment.
• Must pass and complete any required Kinder Morgan specific safety training as may be required by Customer(s) and as required at all Kinder Morgan work locations. • Must obtain and/or meet all requirements to enter foreign trade zones; such as background checks by both the U.S. Coast Guard and the Department of Homeland Security, i.e. obtain and maintain a Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC).
• Obtain an Equipment operator's certification for equipment being operated; or one to three month's related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
• Must be willing and able to work as part of a team.

• Required to stand, walk and climb for extended periods of time.
• Communicate with supervision and co-workers via radio and hand signals.
• Must wear FRC clothing.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
