SUMMARY: The AV / VTC Operator will provide operational and installation support of AV, VTC and collaboration tools and systems in USTRANSCOM conference rooms, training rooms, auditoriums, senior leader offices, video walls (e.g., 1900E Lobby, Rear Lobby), signage systems, and command center work areas on Scott AFB and surrounding areas.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Supports the Managed IT Services Management (MITs) contract at Scott AFB, IL. Crowley provides information technology solutions and services to a broad range of both Government and private industry, including Department of Defense, Federal Civilian agencies, healthcare, education, and small/medium business market. Participates in and leads technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the systems domain. Leads and is responsible for designing, developing, modifying, adapting and/or implementing complex short- and long-term solutions to IT needs through new and existing systems, software, and hardware. Primarily self-directed. Performs system upgrades, configuration and customizations including planning and scheduling, implementation testing, and coordination. Monitors and maintains system performance and functionality, software licensing and maintenance agreements. Coordinates and partners with other technical teams to identify and understand problems with systems and develops solutions to resolve them. Duties include on-site installation, termination, and testing of audio, video, control and network wires, cables, and equipment within professional audiovisual systems. These systems include video projectors, flat panel displays, cameras, screens, sound reinforcement equipment, and control systems for commercial audiovisual installations. Support turnover of the completed installations to the Government to include acceptance testing and training. Assist the AV / VTC Install and Maintenance Team to fully commission and maintain installed systems. Assist other team members as required to provide the customer with the superior level of support they have come to expect, and deserve, from the Crowley AV/VTC Engineering, Installation, and Maintenance Team.EDUCATION: Degree in computer science or Electronic Principles or a related field; or combination of post high school education and experience equal to eight (8) years. Infocomm CTS or CTS-I Certification would be considered a plus.

EXPERIENCE: 8 - 10 years of experience administering applications and AV/VTC installations. Have a minimum of 5 years of direct briefing support and VTC experience. Must possess a technical background in electronics or AV/VTC installations. Must have the ability to fully commission video and audio-conferencing systems in IP based environments. Must have 3 years' experience supporting federal government contracts.

TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY: Be proficient with Audiovisual and VTC equipment operations. Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio. Advanced proficiency in the administration of systems, software, and hardware in moderate to complex environments. Must have Technical Skills:
Senior technician level knowledge of audiovisual and video conference equipment installation and operations.
Ability to read and understand block diagrams, drawings, and electrical schematics is required.
Must be adept in the use of electronic test equipment, small hand tools (wire strippers, soldering irons, video crimp tools, etc.), electric hand tools, and copper and fiber termination equipment.
Basic carpentry skills as required to install speakers, mounts, and low voltage infrastructure.

Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. Ability to interface business applications with other systems. Ability to effectively manage projects that may vary in nature and scope. Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, maintain, and repair a variety of equipment and machinery used in area of work. Ability to mentor, coach, train, and/or supervise employees. Knowledge of applicable computer software and operating systems.

OTHER: The minimum of a Secret level DoD Security Clearance is required. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others. Ability to receive and carry out directions from Lead Installer or AV/VTC Team Lead. Candidate must be willing to work safely and with an attention to work site cleanliness both during installation and post installation. Ability to work effectively and with the requisite respect and courtesy within a Senior Military and DoD command structure.

JOB SCOPE: Position impacts multiple business units/segments.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Be able to accommodate a flexible and varied work schedule to include early mornings, evenings, nights, and weekends.
Attendance is critical. Work hours are normally 8 hours per day and 5 days per week, Monday through Friday. Being prompt is important to provide continuous and on-going service to customers. Attendance is important to maintain continuity of service. Work outside of normal duty hours may be required with as little as one-hour advance notice. Must be able to support 24-hour Weekend/Holiday On-Call Operations and respond onsite within two (2) hours of notification.
Must be able to routinely lift at least 80 pounds unassisted. Will be required to perform physical duties such as working from ladders and lifting installation equipment and material.
