Job Description:

The position is responsible for performing a diversified number of functions under direction of the Lead Precision Bearing Inspector or the Department Head. This individual can work on their own initiative provided they have the proper skill and where necessary the proper authorization/certification. This individual may be required to possess current certification at Level II for Magnaflux and/or be approved for Flight Safety Critical inspections.



Job Responsibilities:



  • Work with Engineering, Manufacturing & Tool Room in developing gaging improvements.

  • Work with Engineering on the development of new products, focusing on the development of inspection methods.

  • Monitor the Quality & Output of assigned inspectors.

  • Conduct First Article Inspections

  • May be required to be Flight Safety Critical certified.

  • Instruct associates in the proper use of inspection tools

  • Provide Technical assistance to inspectors, manufacturing personnel, Mfg. Floor Supervision.

  • Perform Government Source inspection

  • Monitor Production for excessive scrap, quality of parts and operation of processes.

  • Gather data for Process Capability Studies

  • Troubleshoot Quality Problems.

  • Initiate and/or revise inspection procedures and work instructions.

  • Initiate requisitions for new or replacement gaging as required to support production.

  • Set up and operate inspection & test gaging for Precision Bearings, (ABEC 5 & higher).

  • Set up and operate inspection & test gaging for Bearings, (ABEC 4& lower).

  • Interpret part print dimensions and specifications, (including GD&T), to ensure parts meet print requirements.

  • Work with other associates as needed to support teamwork throughout the facility.

  • Maintain good housekeeping in assigned work area.
