Fired heaters are the engines that drive many process industries, and Woodis seeking a Junior Structural Engineer to join Wood's Technology and Products team and address the challenges of energy transition and sustainability. The ideal candidate for this position will have a bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical engineering and preferably some relevant structural and/or mechanical engineering experience (internship, part time, etc.). The position is in Hampton, NJ, however we offer flexibility for working remotely.
Role Overview
The Junior Structural Engineer is responsible for performing structural/mechanical design calculations under the guidance of a Senior Structural Engineer. He or she is also expected to collaborate effectively with the engineering and design team and perform assigned tasks and projects in a timely manner.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Responsibilities
Prepare structural and mechanical design calculations and design packages.
Review and understand drawings prepared by design staff and suppliers, including shop drawings.
Review and interpret code requirements and customer specifications.
Participate in meetings with key stakeholders (management team, clients, suppliers, contractors) in the execution and delivery of contracted activities.
Resolve difficult technical and other issues which are non-recurring and occasionally unique.
Travel to client locations for meetings and jobsite inspections both domestically and internationally may be required.
Collaborate with affiliate worldwide Products groups on practices, standards, and workshare.
Participate in industry association activities (API, ASME, etc.)
