A Day in The Life


  • Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
  • Maintain working knowledge of the system design and performance
  • Learn Software Deployment procedures for all aspects of the robotic platform
  • Perform root cause analysis and debugging related to system level errors as well as triaging reported defects to identify impacted subsystems (software or hardware) and prioritization
  • Create and manage tickets related to software defects and integration findings based on root cause analysis and self-identified trends
  • Provide written disposition and evidence to resolve anomalies generated from integration issues
  • Provide software support and assistance during usability studies, preclinical labs and/or manufacturing processes
  • Contribute to the assessment of proposed design changes and impact based on test evidence
  • Assess and contribute to design decisions for new product develop and early feasibility projects
  • Develop tools for monitoring system performance, improving utility of logged data, and enhancing debugging

Must Have: Minimum Requirements


  • Bachelors degree required
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience

Nice to Have

• 2 years of experience in administering Polarion ALM, DOORS, Jama, or similar tool including installation/upgrade, maintenance, support, as well as working on implementing customizations to scripts, workflows and work items

• Experience writing, debugging, and maintaining (sometimes complex) scripts written in JavaScript or similar scripting language (Python, Perl, etc)

• Experience administering applications hosted on Microsoft Windows Server and Linux (Red Hat and/or Ubuntu) servers

• Software tool validation experience in a regulated environment (e.g. medical device, aerospace, defense, etc), including test case authoring and execution

• Knowledge of software configuration management, specifically change control/version control

• A track record of working collaboratively with R&D teams, ability to quickly learn new tools/technologies, and demonstratable problem analysis/resolution capabilities is highly desired.

• Experience in using Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), preferably REST API

• Experience in writing technical documentation such as installation guides/reports

• Experience of Enterprise Architect (EA) and EA Pro Cloud Server tool administration

• Experience in writing tool training materials/courses and providing tool usage training sessions
