Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group (MAPMG) invites applications for a Clinical Informaticist Specialist to join our Technology Integration department. This position is a full-time opportunity based out of our regional office located in Rockville, Maryland with a hybrid work model.

Reporting to a Senior Systems Analyst and Manager, the Clinical Informaticist Specialist will engage and work with health care team members and physicians to analyze problems, develop software and application solutions, and coordinate implementations to meet business requirements. You will work with team members, physicians, and managers to develop prototypes, configure technology solutions, and coordinate deployment.
You can expect to:
Develop ownership of technology products and use Epic expertise, analytical skills, and operational workflow knowledge to automate and standardize clinical workflows and improve quality of care for patients
Design, build, and configure clinical workflows within designated Epic system modules for software and application development
Facilitate decision making within the organization to tailor Epic system according to business requirements. Engage with stakeholders and sponsors to gather business and technical requirements, and collaborating with Product Owners to establish acceptance criteria
Create prototype solutions to increase and enhance end-user involvement, obtain user feedback, and design and develop test scripts and materials for end to end workflow testing
Review SQL reports and Epic-integrated reports to analyze operational problems and ensure application solutions support business needs and direction as designed
Deliver evidenced-based clinical content and ensure the quality of clinical content to meet national and regional regulatory mandates
What is required:
Bachelor's degree in a healthcare related profession
Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience with direct patient care as a nurse practitioner, physician assistant or registered nurse or similar level clinical title
Minimum of zero (0) to three (3) years of experience in Clinical Informatics field
Experience or training with Epic clinical workflows and medical record system
Epic® Certification in a clinical module required within 3 months from the date of employment
Experience with database systems such as SQL is preferred
Ability to analyze and communicate complex concepts
Demonstrated creative problem-solving approach and strong analytical skills.
Must have good written and verbal communication
The ability to commute to Rockville, MD on an as-needed basis
Candidates must either currently live in or be willing to relocate to the Washington D.C., Maryland, or Virginia area
