Position Overview: We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Infection Control Nurse to join our team at Western Slope Care Center. As the Infection Control Nurse, you will play a critical role in preventing and controlling infections within our facility, ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents and staff. This is a full-time position offering an excellent opportunity to utilize your expertise in infection prevention while working in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and evaluate infection prevention and control policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory guidelines and best practices.
Conduct regular surveillance of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and other communicable diseases within the facility.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to identify and mitigate infection risks and implement preventive measures.
Provide education and training to staff on infection control protocols, including hand hygiene, personal protective equipment (PPE) use, and isolation precautions.
Monitor compliance with infection control practices and conduct audits to assess adherence to established protocols.
Investigate outbreaks of infectious diseases and implement appropriate control measures to contain and prevent further spread.
Maintain accurate records and reports of infection surveillance data, trends, and outcomes.
Stay abreast of current developments in infection control and participate in professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills.
Qualifications:
Registered Nurse (RN) with current licensure in the state of (Insert State).
Certification in Infection Control (CIC) preferred.
Minimum of two years of experience in infection prevention and control, preferably in a healthcare setting.
Strong knowledge of infection control principles, practices, and regulations.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders to achieve common goals.
