Senior Director Software Reliability & Quality
Mission Deliver great quality outcome to our customers, bringing technical expertise and continuously challenging on design practices to get robust, reliable and easy to use software/firmware and systems. Develop and promote methods & tools to deliver the best customer experience in a globally consistent manner. Play a strategic role in defining what SW Reliability and Quality mean for Schneider Electric
Organization structure

This position reports to the VP, Software Quality. There are no direct reports.
Main responsibilities


  • In collaboration with a network of experts including but not limited to Marketing, Product/Offer Management, R&D Leadership, Quality leaders, & Customer Care, Strengthen the SW Reliability and Quality for Schneider Electric globally.

  • Develop and train SW reliability best practices. Integrate these best practices into the SW Quality Fundamentals as well as define the boundary between HW and SW reliability.

  • Lead the efforts for creating training material for SW Reliability.

  • Get continuously up to date on quality practices with internal and external benchmark of best-in-class software development companies.

  • Bring consistency and coaching in SW quality methods and tools for project development, develop expertise in all functions involved on SW quality.

  • Create communication plans for how SW quality will be shared with the community and larger organization.

  • Drive change with pilot projects from across all Divisions/LoBs within Schneider Electric.

  • Promote the implementation, across all R&D Schneider entities, worldwide, on the SW Quality Fundamentals.

  • Coach and develop expertise in R&D and quality teams on SW Quality Best Practices.

  • Develop the actionable metrics to permanently evaluate and improve the quality and robustness level of the product/offers (risk evaluation and management, quality level, non-regression, bug management, maintainability, usability, arrival rate ...).

  • Propose a "Customer promise dashboard" to report "maturity" of the product/offer versus customer expectations, to enable safe project decisions.

  • Close the loop between KPI's from the field and improvements to be monitored during product/offer creation process.

  • Drive the teams to use data as the foundation, creating dashboards from metrics to report progress and learnings, enabling project decisions.

  • Train and mentor SW Quality Leaders.

Qualifications and experiences

  • Education in computer science, software engineering or equivalent.

  • 15+ years' experience in software/firmware development and software quality.

  • Experience managing teams from 10-50 people.

  • Collaborate with Executive Leaders, Quality Leaders and other stakeholders across the organization to ensure the Division's offers are at the highest level for SW Quality.

  • Experience with complex Software Systems (communication networks, Internet of Things (IoT), Cloud applications, Mobile applications, Desktop applications, etc.).

  • Excellent knowledge of software development methodologies, software architecture, peer reviews, testing techniques, qualimetry (code analysis), and quality assurance processes.

  • Experience leading transformations in large organizations and managing change in complex SW/FW Systems.

  • Experience implementing SW and SW quality best practices.
