Job Description:

This position is accountable for the design of switchgear and switchboards based on customer plans and specifications. The applicant will work with systems involving ground fault design, PLC transfers and power monitoring.

Familiarity with UPS and Generator switchgear applications is highly desirable, and knowledge of the following areas is required:


  • Layout and configuration of switchgear and switchboards

  • Ability to read, understand, interpret customer dwgs/specifications

  • - Design of control schemes, utilizing PLCs and/or relays, to accomplish complex transfer operations

  • Creation of electrical schematics and wiring diagrams with SEEXP

  • Design of ground fault protective schemes, including those involving multiple sources

  • Generation of bills of material, and modification of standard assemblies as required to suit the application

  • Familiarity with Modbus and TCP/IP communications protocols, and RS-485 and Ethernet interfaces

  • Application of power circuit monitoring equipment

  • Application of protective relaying, including over/under voltage, phase loss, frequency, and sync check


An BSEE is required, along with 3-5 years of experience in the design and manufacture of electrical distribution equipment.
This position requires you to work onsite in Columbia, SC
