Steam Plant Mechanic

MR07 – Starting rate depending on candidate qualifications and experience.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Perform routine maintenance, such as inspecting drives, motors, or belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, or doing other preventive maintenance actions. Repair or replace defective pressure vessel parts, such as safety valves or regulators, using torches, threading dies, welding equipment, or metalworking machinery.  Applicant for this position must have the ability to repair boilers, pumps, turbines, compressors, fabricate fan housings, and other items for use in steam plant.

Applicant should have knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. Determine causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it. Perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed. Applicant should have the ability to weld, operate power tools, read plans and blueprints. 

Help Sr. Mechanics in performing their duties. Perform other duties such as operating fork lifts, cleaning boiler etc. or as directed by supervisor.

Qualifications

Minimum/Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED.  Mechanical Knowledge and 1-2 Years of related experience
