Service Supervisor III
Department of University HousingThe Department of University Housing, Housing Services, within the Division of Student Life invites applications for the position of Service Supervisor III. This position is a working supervisor that directs and also helps supervise a work group of (7-17) Service Aide I's and (5-20) temporary seasonal employees.Our mission is to foster positive, student-centered residential communities supporting the academic mission of the university. We provide a defining experience for students through programs and amenities that facilitate individual learning and development. University Housing’s value and services enhance the overall university student experience.
The Position: Assist with the work group hiring process. Conduct daily quality control inspections of assigned areas to ensure completion of work assignments and adherence to quality standards. Reports maintenance problems to supervisor as required. Fills in for supervisor when and where needed.
Responsibilities:May assist in the following but not limited to –

Supervision of custodial staff and in training designated personnelPreparation of work schedules, special assignmentsMaintaining inventory controls and records for custodial supplies and equipment.Order custodial supplies, receive and verify supply deliveries.Train and motivate work group on custodial techniques, tools, equipment, and safety precautions.

This is a working supervisory position that requires performance of scheduled assignments and custodial tasks.Performs other related duties as required

Qualifications

What We Require:
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Experience: One (1) year of experience in a custodial services operation.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
What We Prefer:
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Experience:

Experience in a large, complex custodial organization; experience within higher education.Knowledge of industry standard cleaning methods and practices, and those required by various governmental agencies (OSHA, TOSHA, EPA, etc.).Ability to effectively operate custodial equipment and tools, coordinate diverse workforce, handle multiple open projects/tasks simultaneously, and work with tight deadlines and schedules.

Salary: The salary for this position is commensurate with experience and other qualifications and is accompanied by a standard university benefits package. This is a full-time, hourly position.
