The Social Services Director plans, organizes, and directs programs that facilitate the social, psychological, and physiological well-being of each resident; provides direct resident and family support; and acts as a resident advocate.

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or a related field
• Within the last five years, must have one year of supervised social work experience (preferably in a health care setting)
• Must have a valid Virginia drivers license
• Experience in long-term care preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of individuals
• Knowledge of social services practices and procedures
• Knowledge of the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing social services functions in a long-term care facility
• Leadership skills
• Organizational skills
• Ability to make independent decisions
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form
