ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES The Finishing Processes Engineer Intern will be part of the North America Finishing Competence Center team and will be involved in day-to-day activities to gain as much experience as possible. Intern will discover all aspects of a technical expert function, encouraged to bring new ideas and be mainly responsible for:
Participating, or managing, process improvement projects:
Reducing the Cost of a cutting Process, involving to design and conduct trials, validating solutions, and training operational teams.
Improving the Health and Safety conditions of our mills through the qualification of alternatives paints used in our Finishing lines – understanding the risks, working with suppliers, testing the solutions in the plant, and validating the solutions.
Impact the Performance of a Finishing line – reducing the stoppages of a key process thanks to problem analysis, solution finding through benchmark and exchanges with experts.
Benchmarking with expert – building a network with existing experts of Vallourec around the globe, discussions technical options for your projects, and sharing results/outputs.
Knowledge Management – aggregate and make available the technical knowledge about Finishing process – develop analysis skills, as well as synthetic thinking.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS To be successful in this internship, you should demonstrate the following competencies:
Must be interested in project management – autonomous, well organized, skilled in transverse communication.
Capable to design and conduct trials on the shop floor, as well as to exchange/learn from our skilled operators/tech specialists.
Skilled in building and entertaining a network.
Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in mechanical or chemical Engineering.
