Boston and Healthcare Centers - Physical Therapy Clinical Specialist specializing in Neurology


The Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) is seeking a Part-time, 20 hour Physical Therapist with an ABPTS Board Certification in Neurologic PT and proven experience to mentor and develop clinical skills and knowledge among the staff at the Wang Ambulatory Care Center on the hospital's main campus, as well as the MGH Chelsea and Revere Healthcare Centers.


At MGH Physical and Occupational Therapy our clinical specialists provide expert physical therapy care to patients in various specialty areas. They are responsible for mentoring and facilitating professional development for the clinical staff. The successful candidate should be a ABPTS Board Certified Neurologic Clinical Specialist with a strong focus on mentorship and clinical teaching. A successful candidate will assist in leading program development that facilitates the advancement of clinical practice within our department.


The MGH Outpatient PT Department currently has eight Clinical Specialists located at our Boston and healthcare center locations, each with more than 14 years of clinical experience, who collectively mentor our therapists. In addition to mentoring, teaching, and maintaining direct patient care responsibilities, our Clinical Specialists are essential members of our leadership team. They participate in hiring and reviewing clinical performance, oversee in-service programs, participate in residency training programs in neurology, sports physical therapy and orthopaedics. Additionally, they represent the department to the MGH and Mass General Brigham (MGB) physician community. Together with our department directors, they shape and evolve our patient care to meet the current and future needs within the MGH community.



Qualifications

The ideal candidate has a minimum of seven years of clinical experience (10+ years of experience preferred) with proven expertise in the management of patients with a wide variety of neurologic and vestibular conditions, has a proven ability to collaborate with physician colleagues and experience mentoring advanced clinical practice development of physical therapists.


The successful candidate should have excellent communication skills, advanced competencies in neruologic physical therapy and strong clinical reasoning and mentoring abilities. We value diversity within our workforce and seek candidates from rising communities and identities.


Requirements: MA license; Minimum 7 years clinical experience (10+ years preferred). ABPTS Board Certification in Orthopaedics is required.
