Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY:

The CMM Operator is accountable for the operation and execution of the CMM inspection process and inspection throughput in a fast-paced manufacturing plant. Partner with CNC machine operators and inspectors to work collaboratively to meet customer, quality and delivery expectations. Responsible to achieve performance indicators and ensuring adherence to safety and Company guidelines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs precision measurements and verifications of raw materials, components, outside processing and in-process activities


• This job has decision-making responsibilities regarding the acceptance or rejection of work and tests performed and the determination of measuring equipment used


• Coordinate resources and equipment to support daily CMM processing operations.


• Identify best inspection practices opportunities and implement


• Sustain clean, organized inspection areas using 5S techniques


• Partner with quality engineering to ensure quality requirements for receiving, in process, and final inspections are understood, adhered to and fully implemented


• Drive corrective actions associated with inspection failures to ensure that any findings or non-conformances are addressed quickly


• Be an advocate for safety. Insist on safe practices throughout the inspection areas

• All other duties as assigned

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Must be detail-oriented


• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds


• Ability to solve complex problems

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or equivalent in relevant work experience. 2-year degree preferred


• Two (2) years minimum prior experience as CMM operator in a fast-paced manufacturing environment preferred


• Results oriented with the drive necessary to continuously look for ways to improve the effectiveness of operations, processes, procedures or services


• Willing to take the initiative needed and go beyond individual roles and functions to get things done


• Team Player with the flexibility and dependability needed to see projects and tasks through to completion


• High degree of knowledge of blueprint reading, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), complex inspection methods and CMM programing PC-DMIS


• Knowledge in AS9100 and the creation of AS9102 form 3 (auto generated using Visual software) is a plus
