Job Description:

The Senior Assistant Director will be an integral part of the admissions team charged with supporting the recruiting and admissions efforts across the suite of graduate programs. Specific responsibilities include outbound phone work to prospective candidates; staffing recruiting events (on and off campus); taking an active role in the interview and application review process; and acting as the project manager and liaison for the corporate partnership program.

WHAT YOU WILL DO


  • Responsible for implementing the conversion process across the graduate school portfolio including proactive outreach to inquiries, applicants, and admitted candidates via web, telephone, mail, e-mail, social media, and in person.

  • Interviews and counsels prospective students and evaluates their candidacy for Babson's graduate programs.

  • Meets targeted enrollment goals through the establishment of effective sales strategies and relationship management.

  • Promotes Babson's Graduate programs through direct sales, professional presentations, and the execution of well-coordinated recruitment travel (both domestic and international) as well as onsite and virtual events.

  • In collaboration with the recruitment team, manages the prospect funnel (from inquiry through enrollment).

  • Reviews admission applications to the College; presents recommendations to the admission committee; and has ownership in decision-making processes (this includes some evening and weekend work).

  • Serves as the relationship manager between the Graduate Admissions team and the Corporate Engagement team and serves as the primary admissions contact for prospective students who engage with Graduate Admissions through the corporate engagement program.

  • Works with campus partners (such as IT, Corporate Engagement, and Academic Services) on developing, implementing, and maintaining procedures to ensure best practices are maintained and consistent.

  • Provides tracking, reporting, and continuous feedback to key internal stakeholders to aid in enrollment scenario planning for upcoming years.

  • Works in collaboration with Babson's Graduate Events team in planning and executing recruiting events, both on campus and off (e.g., one-on-one sessions with candidates, visitor programs, information sessions, yield receptions, and business development visits).

  • Responsible for supporting and maintaining a productive, collaborative, and continuous feedback loop with colleagues within the Graduate School and College. Areas important to our business include the Dean's Office, Program Management, Career Services, International Programs, College Marketing, and Student Financial Services.

  • Assume additional responsibilities as required.

WHAT EDUCATION AND SKILLS YOU WILL NEED


  • Bachelor's Degree

  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience in college admissions, marketing, recruiting, staffing, or sales.

  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills as well as a strong focus on customer service

  • Must have a "make-it-happen" mindset that leverages creative solutions to recruit strong candidates

  • Ability to handle multiple projects with frequent deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Demonstrated ability to report and manipulate data to identify shifts and trends in the marketplace as well as the ability to redirect efforts on behalf of the graduate programs to ensure enrollment goals are attained

  • Ability to work with ethnically, culturally, and socially diverse students, staff, and faculty

  • Must be detail-oriented and could handle multiple projects with frequent deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Must have strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft office including knowledge of Office basics (i.e., Mail Merge, Sort/Filter within Excel, and manipulate data within excel), and the ability to grasp changing technology quickly

  • Ability to envision and propose new methods to perform tasks that support ET&A; work independently to solve problems; look for opportunities to take on responsibility; take thoughtful risks; and accept new and ongoing initiatives, objectives, and solutions to gain sought-after results.

  • Ability to anticipate and embrace change; demonstrate willingness to achieve, acquire, and utilize new skills and challenging tasks; and is flexible in changing conditions.

HOW AND WHERE YOU WILL WORK


  • Must have had a valid unrestricted U.S. Driver's License for one year, and maintain throughout employment an insurable (as determined by the College's insurer's criteria) or a satisfactory driving record; must successfully complete and pass the College's vehicle training program within the first 60 days of employment; annual or more frequent review of employee's driving record based on the College insurer's criteria; and safety training as required by management.

  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends

  • Required to travel domestically and internationally

  • Requires work onsite a minimum of 3 days a week (requires 5 days a week for the first 3 months for training purposes); the on-campus requirement is subject to modification based on organizational need.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS YOU MAY HAVE


  • Master's Degree in Business Administration or Education, or equivalent strongly preferred

  • Previous experience with web-based and electronic marketing, customer relationship management (CRM), and data management and mining preferred
