We are seeking a full-time Aviation Technical Writer I in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for creating reader-friendly user's guides and installation and maintenance manuals.
Essential Functions
Research and write pilot's guides, quick reference guides, installation manuals, and/or maintenance manuals
Create electronic documents using word processing and desktop publishing tools
Communicate with the Design Engineers in areas that relate to the product specifications and product development
Facilitate the rework of mechanical drawings and screen captures
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in a related field OR a minimum of 2 years relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience in the aviation industry and working with and/or using avionics
Demonstrated proficiency using word processing tools such as Microsoft Word
Detail-oriented and have the ability to work proactively
Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Desired Qualifications
Experience and/or knowledge in electronics relevant to this position
Proficiency in effectively using Adobe InDesign
Experience with AutoCAD, Adobe Illustrator, and Photoshop
Familiar with aviation phraseology and flight operations procedures
Basic understanding of S1000D documentation standards
