About the Opportunity:

PURPOSE:
Plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing processes in a manufacturing industry by performing the duties below.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Provides engineering support by developing, evaluating, and improving manufacturing methods.
- Confers with management, engineering, and planning regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production methods.
- Designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
- Communicates with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
- Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
- Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
- Analyzes direct and indirect labor, line balancing, flow analysis and process optimization.
- Develops PFMEA's, budgets, line/facility layouts, process sheets, capacity analyses, make/buy analyses.
- Utilizes LSS tools and leads teams to identify and eliminate waste.
- Optimizes production capabilities through capital equipment justification and acquisition.
- Researches and analyzes new technologies to improve manufacturing processes.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering from an accredited institution (or equivalent)
- Ten (10) years of engineering experience in a multi-disciplined manufacturing environment
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem solving skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to create, design, and interpret engineering drawings
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Familiarity with powder coating
- Experience in 3D modeling (Solidworks preferred)
