We are seeking a full-time Operations Trainer (Electronics) in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, coordinating, and implementing electronics and technical training classes and programs for Operations Associates, seeking to provide support for all training events, and conducting administrative tasks as requested to sustain the operations.
Essential Functions
Plan, create, and deliver training and curriculum for Operations associates and coordinate training events with Workforce, Subject Matter Experts, Supervisors, etc.
Evaluate and develop Operations mentoring program
Communicate routinely with supervisor on progress of training and associate certifications
Demonstrate ability to develop short and long-term goals for Training events
Develop web-based teaching materials, eLearning, and other learning technology materials
Work in self-directed environment towards predetermined long range strategies/goals
Partner with Operations leadership to ensure that training meets the needs of the department and that training is delivered when necessary
Organize and develop training materials (e.g. course syllabi, testing/evaluation procedures, multimedia visual aids) and resources (laptops, room bookings, guest instructors) for group, individual, off-site, or self-guided training activities
Maintain training schedules/provide timely progress reports on all training events to HR and management while ensuring training documentation is maintained per Garmin standards/procedures
Create and conduct training for current and new computer applications and processes
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Electronics, Operations, Engineering, or related field AND a minimum of 2 years experience as a Trainer OR an Associate's Degree in Electronics, Operations, Engineering or related field AND a minimum of 4 years experience as a Trainer
Experience soldering, working with electronic devices or teaching electronic skills
Knowledge of IPC-A-610 and/or IPC-7711 standards
Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with excellent presentation skills and public speaking experience
Demonstrated advanced proficiency and knowledge of current Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Must have experience in the development of interactive, multimedia training materials
Must be detail-oriented, demonstrate the ability to work proactively/effectively with minimal supervision, and be a driven problem solver with proven success in solving difficult problems
Maintain flexibility to train outside normal business hours of 8am-5pm
Desired Qualifications
Experience in warehouse or industrial equipment preferred
Experience in a corporate training role
Experience with ISO 9001 documentation and procedures
Experience in a warehouse environment, operating or training heavy equipment
