As B&W continues to expand our reach in the Energy field, we are looking to hire experienced Boiler/Power Industry Process Engineers. The ideal candidate will have process engineering experience in Coal, Oil and Gas, Biomass, or Waste to Energy technology. Must have familiarity with grate/stoker, burner, or fluid bed combustion, heat and material balance calculations, and heat exchanger/boiler component sizing.
Experience with commercial heat transfer tools is a plus.
The ideal candidate for this role will utilize their basic knowledge of engineering as they perform assigned tasks as part of a broader assignment. This individual applies standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in accordance with established criteria (policies, standards, etc.) to perform assigned tasks.
Perform detailed thermo fluid design analysis on utility and industrial steam generation systems
Serve as lead boiler process engineer on proposal, study or contract efforts
Prepare drawings, documents, and visual aids as required to support other departments
Work within company standards and industry regulations to design economical and efficient steam generation systems, including required auxiliary equipment, to fulfil project requirements
Complete ASME Section I code calculations for headers, tubing and piping during proposals and prepare pressure part packages used to obtain material costs
Perform basic design tasks
Author routine technical reports
Participate in engineering of routine OEM and Service contracts and proposals
Perform Engineering Studies
Present designs in design review meetings
Interact with external customers, A/Es, vendors, and/or sublet engineers
Partner with others within the same discipline
Exercise limited judgement on details of work and in application of standards methods for conventional work
Perform all other duties as assigned
Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program required. - Preference towards those with Mechanical or Chemical Engineering background
7 - 10 years of relevant experience with power plant products / technology preferred
Must be proficient in thermal fluid sciences and/or process engineering.
Strong oral and written communication skills
Must be able to work both independently and in a group environment
