The Opportunity: Critical Care Technician - Blake 12 Multidisciplinary ICU

We currently have exciting opportunities for a Critical Care Technician (CCT) to join the MGH Blake 12 ICU team! Presently, Blake 12 ICU is an 18-bed adult medical, surgical, abdominal transplant, and trauma intensive care unit. Under the direction of a registered nurse (RN), the Critical Care Technician (CCT) assists the multi-disciplinary health care team in clinical support functions to promote a safe, compassionate patient care environment. CCT aids with activities of daily living needs of patients, assisting nurses in helping to stabilize patients, drawing blood, frequent glucose monitoring, and obtaining EKGs, to name a few.


Specialized Skills


Critical Care Technicians assist nurses with providing specialized care for patients who are critically ill such as providing support in helping with ADLs, perform venipuncture or trained in the use of an arterial line catheter to draw labs, and using specialized equipment for diagnostic purposes. CCTS also respond to patient requests in a timely manner, safeguarding patient confidentiality, monitoring patient safety, and always communicating in a respectful manner.

Qualifications

• Required: Must have at least 1-year recent experience within an inpatient acute care environment.


• Preferred: Licensed, certified or enrolled student in a Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, Mental Health Technician, or EMT accredited program, at the time of hire, OR


• Candidate enrolled in a Nursing, Pre-Med, PA undergraduate program, with at least one semester of patient care rotations completed, at time of hire.
