Support all systems necessary to be in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices, HACCP, and all regulatory compliances while maintaining the B & G Foods, Inc. sanitation program and standards. Effectively supervise the sanitation and quality assurance staff to assure plant sanitation, specification compliance, continuous improvement and safety programs are maintained. Implement and support the SQF code. Employee is responsible for safety and food safety / quality through sanitation.

 

Duties-

Lead plant environmental services (sanitation) programs.

Master sanitation schedule. Chemical usage and efficacy. Sanitation standard operating procedures (SSOP’s) and support Safety program SDS

Supervise and perform Sanitation and Quality Assurance activities including:

Supervise sanitors and lab aids. Conduct monthly sanitation and GMP audits for 3rd shift.

Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning and sanitation tasks to assure completeness.

Perform swabs as needed for sanitation program.  

Verification and validation of job competencies as they relate to CCP’s and other quality tests. Environmental monitoring of facility.

Develops or recommends development of procedures, techniques and process controls to assure sanitation program meets objectives. Assist with new product development by performing cleaning and validation studies.

Attend monthly safety meetings. Follow up on assigned safety issues as needed.

Support continuous improvement and cost savings projects.

Work on special projects as assigned by the QA Manager.

 

Experience Required: 1-2 years

Education: Bachelor's Degree Preferred, or combined experience and certifications

Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of sanitation and effective cleaning programs. 

Knowledge of the SQF or equivalent code.

Plant sanitation expertise. 

Knowledge of computers and related equipment.

Good verbal communication and written skills.

Basic microbiology background and understanding
