Audubon Metals LLC is located in Henderson, Kentucky and began its operations in 1996 with an in-house heavy media sortation process and a single reverberatory furnace. Since then the company has continued to expand its Kentucky operations and has added a second facility in Corsicana, Texas.


"Automotive shredder residue," from automotive shredders throughout North America, is the main raw product brought in to our facility. We pride ourselves on being the only facility within the United States with a sortation and secondary smelter under one roof. We produce aluminum alloy ingots and sows for the automotive industry.

Job Title: Manager, Raw Materials Department: Raw Materials Purchasing


Reports to: Vice President of Raw Materials Effective Date: 4/1/2024



Job Summary:


As a Manager, Raw Materials for Audubon Metals, you will play a crucial role supporting the V.P. of Raw Materials in overseeing the procurement process to ensure the efficient acquisition of materials necessary for our operations. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic sourcing initiatives, negotiating contracts, and maintaining supplier relationships. Your expertise in the metals industry and purchasing will contribute to the success and sustainability of our operations.



Responsibilities:

• Support V.P. Raw Materials in developing and implementing procurement strategies aligned with the company's objectives and production needs.
• Identify and evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish favorable terms and conditions for the procurement of raw materials.
• Monitor market trends, conduct supplier assessments, and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
• Maintain supplier relationships, resolve issues and ensure timely delivery of materials to meet production schedules.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, and ethical sourcing practices in all procurement activities.
• Analyze procurement data, prepare reports, and provide insights to management for decision-making purposes.
• Assist V.P. Raw Materials in by-product inventory management and sales.
• Perform other necessary procurement-related functions as designated by V.P. Raw Materials.
• Interface with Operations to ensure continuous improvement initiatives are considering the latest metals / raw materials processing and separation technology available in the industry.

Education and Experience:

• A bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management or a related field is preferred.
• Proven experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in the Raw Materials industry, with specific knowledge of secondary aluminum smelting processes.

Travel Requirements:


This position is a remote/hybrid role that would require occasional travel of up to 35%.
