Job Summary
Under the direction of the Strategic CMF Product Manager, work as part of a project team to find and evaluate new CMF opportunities that make business sense. This includes any assistance to the team during key evaluation and feasibility work on all new CMF opportunities. Such assistance would include things like: Developing and briefing overviews of the opportunity to key members of the team prior to key meetings, conducting market research, helping determine if the idea or opportunity solves a key problem, commercial viability work, traveling to meet surgeons, attend cases, and numerous other tasks as needed to help the team accomplish the mission. You will work hand in hand with other Product Managers, New Product Development Engineers, Surgeons, KLS Sales reps, and the Director of New Product Development. You will also work at building your knowledge on all KLS Martin CMF Products, key Product Management processes, and will serve as a valuable CMF asset to help in other areas as needed.
Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
Use professional verbal and written communication skills to present project work to other team members, to include the Executive Team
Travel to attend select trade shows, key surgeon meetings, sales meetings, workshops, cadaver labs, and attend surgery related to project work
Assist the team with market research into key business and new product development opportunities
Assist the team in key initial evaluation activities to help determine if an new idea or opportunity should or shot not move into the feasibility project stage
Assist the team in key feasibility project activities to help determine if a new idea or opportunity solves a problem, is commercially viable, and technically possible
Make recommendations and present findings of your work
Ability to work in both a team environment and on your own at times
Ability to communicate amongst teams and help drive things forward
Stay current on competitive CMF products, technologies, and market share
Assist Operational Product Management team with key Product Launch and other activities as needed
As needed, assist with key documents, milestones, and other activities as part of the actual Product Development process once assigned to and R&D Department
Maintain an in-depth knowledge of published clinical and internal testing & evidence for all marketing claims in the assigned product(s)
Complete, understand, and follow all required company policy trainings
Understand KLS Martin Non-Disclosure Agreements and when to execute them
Understand the medical device IP process, key IP on CMF products, and assist as needed with basic IP activities
Understand government regulations and company policy on expense activities
Submit expenses for reimbursement following the company travel policy
Complete Hospital Credentialing where necessary to perform essential duties
Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
Educational and Experience Requirements
4 year college degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Previous experience or demonstrated ability to learn, Salesforce.com, SAP, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Concur, Paycom, iOS iPad & iPhone
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with all levels within the organization
Plan and organize internal cross-department meetings to accomplish goals of the product line or project
Ability to follow through on issues, make informed decisions that comply with policies and procedures, complete tasks and problem-solve
Demonstrate the ability to work with minimal supervision and accomplish high level goals with minimal explicit instructions
