Responsibilities

What you'll be challenged to do:

TranSystems is looking for a part time/full time summer or fall intern to help with a variety of projects encompassing several different aspects of transportation planning and engineering.  Intern will be responsible for assisting project engineers and project managers with design and administrative tasks.

• Assist staff with routine engineering tasks as assigned


• Provide weekly status updates


• Conduct field investigations and data collection


• Assist with plan production


• Assists in the preparation of various transportation engineering projects, including design and analysis.


• Gathers engineering data from a variety of sources.


• Identifies design criteria


• Evaluates existing and proposed geometric conditions.


• Participates in site visits, project investigations and project meetings.


• Provides design efforts that adhere to quality and schedule requirements


• Assists in preparing and reviewing engineering reports and exhibits


• Assists in developing preliminary quantities and cost estimates

Qualifications

What you bring to our firm:

• Candidate must be pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering


• Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members.
