MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST/MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNICIAN at Gordon Memorial Hospital District in Gordon, Nebraska

Job Description:

This position performs a full range of diagnostic testing on patient specimens as well as ensures testing is conducted in an accurate, efficient and timely manner that facilitates positive patient care. Interacts directly with medical staff members in interpretation and follows up on patient results. Works with other departments in scheduling, performing and reporting tests. Performs waived moderate and high complexity testing according to CLIA regulations.

Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology or closely related subject for Medical Technologist (MT) or Associates Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology for a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), from an accredited program. Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to lab. Must be able to call and respond within minutes. Certified as an MT or MLT by a recognized certifying agency. Must be qualified to perform high complexity testing under 42CFR493.1489(b). Previous phlebotomy and experience preferred.
