Position Description

Position Overview:
Responsible for coordinating, scheduling, tracking, and communicating outages on the Southern Natural Gas, Southern Liquid Natural Gas, and Elba Express pipeline systems while minimizing both capacity and customer impacts.
Key Responsibilities:


  • Develop and maintain an outage plan that minimizes both capacity and customer impacts by using information gathered from various groups and perform conflict resolution between those same groups.

  • Daily communications (via email, phone, meetings) with Project Management, Field Operations, Measurement, System Design, Gas Control, Scheduling, Commercial, and others to include date changes, scope changes, outage impacts, outage durations, etc.

  • Create outage entries into the maxout system ranging from the budget process to unscheduled maintenance items throughout the year and hold weekly internal outage update meetings to include field operations, gas control, MPS, and other involved parties.

  • Work with system design on determining the impact of outages via hydraulic modeling and entering them into maxout.

  • Work closely with Gas Control leads and manager on determining an overall schedule for outages based on historical flows, capacity utilization, and various operating conditions.

  • Work to combine possible outage timeframes to limit multiple impacts in the same segment.

  • Inform customers of project updates on a weekly basis via the normal EBB posting process as well as create individual EBB postings as necessary.

  • Manage and conduct monthly customer power point presentations to external customers with associated impacts.

*Other duties not detailed above will be assigned as necessary.

Position Requirements

Requirements:


  • Regular and predictable attendance

  • Effective communication and documentation (both orally and in writing).

  • Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize work to meet multiple deadlines while maintaining the ability to adapt to fluctuations in those deadlines and /or requests to support unanticipated tasks.

  • Ability to analyze information and recognize/communicate irregularities, conflicts, and issues.

  • Must be proactive and a self-starter with ability to check work to ensure accuracy of data, reports, files, and other documents.

  • Able to review pipeline schematics to "pre-plan" potential outage segments.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word. (Access is a plus)

  • Able to work from the downtown Houston office.

Experience:

  • An associate degree or higher is preferred. A minimum of 5 years direct experience as defined above with proven results may be accepted as a degree substitute.

  • Knowledge of the SNG system is a plus
