We are pleased to share that we have a career opportunity for a Technical Trainer and Developer as a member of the Blue Bird Technical Publications & Training Team. It's an exciting time in the world of alternative fuels and the United States has unprecedented access to federal funding opportunities for alternative fuels, electric vehicles, and energy efficient technologies.

JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Manager, Technical Publications & Training, this role is responsible for designing and delivering technical training programs to automotive professionals, ensuring they are equipped with the latest industry knowledge and skills. The ideal candidate will have extensive technical experience and expertise in the school bus or heavy-duty truck space

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop and deliver Instructor's Guides, Workbooks, Presentations, post training resources and all other required materials for dealers on automotive systems, technologies, and best practices
  • Stay abreast of engineering designs and common field service ticket submissions and incorporate new knowledge into training curricula
  • Collaborate with Field Service Engineering to ensure training content accuracy and relevance by assisting with performing diagnostics and repair of buses prior to delivery
  • Assess training effectiveness and modify programs based on feedback and performance metrics
  • Provide technical support and mentorship to trainees during and after program completion
  • Create surveys for use in needs analyses
  • Reports all metrics from technical training events
  • Perform other relate duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Proven experience as a Technical Trainer, preferably within the automotive industry
  • Tediously technical mindset with a desire to learn more about the Blue Bird product
  • Exceptional communicator with the ability to articulate procedures and ideas verbally and in writing
  • Self-starter with the ability to notice gaps in efficiency and adjust accordingly
  • Proficiency in instructional design, training software, and Microsoft Office.

EDUCATION AND EXPEREINCE:
  • Associates' degree with
  • 3+ years' technical experience as automotive technician - dealer or OEM preferred
  • 2+ years technical training experience OR
  • High School Diploma with a minimum of 7 or more years of relevant experience
  • 5+ years' technical experience as automotive technician - dealer or OEM preferred
  • 2+ years technical training experience
