AMBA is seeking candidates for the following position based in our new Urbandale, Iowa office: Underwriter I
As part of a growing team, you will bring a positive attitude and energy to our team. The primary duties are ensuring we are providing excellent service, product knowledge, and presenting the best possible coverage options to our new and existing clients.
Primary Responsibilities
Underwrite new and renewal applications using carrier guidelines and rate filings
Maintains and grows multiple lines, including but not limited to E&O, D&O, and Cyber policies.
Analyzes information sent to the carrier for underwriting.
Review and monitors monthly submissions to admitted and non-admitted markets.
Develops and fosters relationships with our clients and sub-producers.
Collaborates with various carriers to gain an understanding of each policy and the coverage provided.
Negotiates renewal terms and prepares proposal documents for each client renewal.
Ability to use internal systems and multi-task in a timely manner.
Demonstrates solid underwriting acumen.
Manages workload within established service levels.
What you need to have:
Underwriting background and experience
Insurance Industry experience preferred
High School Diploma
Must be Property and Casualty Licensed or pass licensing test within 40 days
Proficient in MS Excel and Word
Ability to work well in team-based environment with a positive attitude
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
