Job Summary / Basic Function:


Job Summary:The Director of Dual Credit's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, building and expanding LIT's Dual Credit and ECHS programs with regional school districts. He/she will be responsible for providing innovation for dual credit enrollment growth and student retention. The Director of Dual Credit will assist with dual credit grant research, development and implementation. This is an exempt position.

Duties/Responsibilities:


  • Supervise Dual Credit department

  • Serve as liaison between regional high schools and LIT

  • Establish and maintain partnerships with regional school contacts

  • Facilitate the development of dual credit agreements between regional school districts and the Institute

  • Facilitate professional development activities between postsecondary instructors and secondary teachers for curriculum alignment and instructional standards

  • Work in collaboration with the Provost, Deans of Instruction, department chairs, and faculty in the dissemination of dual credit opportunities and participation guidelines to regional school districts

  • Work in collaboration with the Deans and department chairs to develop dual credit programs and curriculum

  • Work with school districts to assist with dual credit application process via ApplyTexas

  • Work to create and maintain Dual Credit Guidelines and Procedures Manual for partner districts

  • Assist local district personnel with recruiting efforts for dual credit programs, including parent informational nights

  • Coordinate the integration of dual credit programs with student services, academic affairs, and other areas of the college

  • Assist with creation of collateral for recruiting and information purposes

  • Assist with recruiting and development of dual credit adjunct faculty at local districts

  • Coordinate dual credit grant opportunities in collaboration with the school district personnel, Provost, faculty, staff, and/or industry

  • Oversees a calendar of regular partnership meetings with key personnel at each partner school

  • Attend community and parent events for dual credit and ECHS partners

  • Other related duties as assigned





Physical Requirements:
This position requires the ability to: remain in a stationary position for most of the time; occasionally move about inside an office to access documents, office equipment, etc.; constantly operate a computer or other office equipment, such as a printer or copy machine.
Minimum Qualifications:


Minimum Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree

  • At least three years of related experience and/or training to the duties and responsibilities

  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with students, staff, faculty, business and industry officials, and the general public

  • Ability to relate to students between the ages of 13-21, as well as nontraditional program participants

  • Experience collaborating with multiple organizations and stakeholders

  • An understanding of THECB and TEA guidelines pertaining to dual credit

  • Ability to develop and implement comprehensive training programs when needed

  • Grant experience

  • General knowledge of proposal guidelines

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills

  • Ability to use various computer software programs

  • Travel as required

  • Master's degree

  • One to three years of supervisory experience

  • Experience using Banner


Salary:

$70,000 - $80,000/annually
