TECHNICAL DOCUMENTATION SPECIALIST INTERN



Location: US Remote


The following hourly pay rates reflect the anticipated base pay for this position:


If the selected candidate is a student pursuing an Associate-level degree: $16.00 per hour


If the selected candidate is a student pursuing an Undergraduate-level degree: $20.00 per hour


If the selected candidate is a student pursing a Graduate-level degree: $32.50 per hour


If the selected candidate is a student pursuing a Doctorate-level degree: $36.00 per hour


The following hourly pay rates reflect the anticipated base pay for this position if a selected candidate were to be located in California, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Illinois (Chicago area), Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Washington (Seattle area):


Student pursuing an Associate-level degree: $17.00 per hour


Student pursuing an Undergraduate-level degree: $22.00 per hour


Student pursing a Graduate-level degree: $36.40 per hour


Student pursuing a Doctorate-level degree: $40.30 per hour

JOB SUMMARY: Focused on helping transform and deliver technical documentation, Zoetis is looking for an intern candidate who will gain exposure with the Product Management team to build a documentation library for Global Diagnostics. You will work with various team members to identify and assess documentation needs, establish processes and protocols for migrating existing documentation, and create original material. This effort is a project core to our customer experience and will expose you to real-world scenarios, systems, problems, and solutions. Interns will work remotely. You will be exposed to best-in-class practices operating in a virtual office, meet with other interns, and network within Zoetis.



PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Project Overview: Working alongside Technical Writer, implement help authoring platform for the delivery of technical documentation.

  • Tasks: Review and migrate existing documentation, identify documentation gaps, and create original documentation related to diagnostic products and services.

  • Final Deliverable: Foundational documentation library.

  • Prepare/present reports and other information summarizing work activities. Prepare/present various analyses as needed to highlight issues and resolve questions.

  • Coordinate with product, tech and digital, marketing, and others to manage projects and ensure overall success.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.




REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:


  • Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program; minimum GPA 3.0 is preferred. Liberal Arts, English, Communications, or Rhetoric and Technical Writing majors encouraged to apply.

  • Demonstrated ability with Microsoft Office applications - especially Word and Excel.

  • Familiar with MadCap Flare or related help authoring tool.

  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities such as assertiveness and willingness to take calculated risks.

  • Ability to take initiative, learn quickly, and strive for results.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in all situations with solid interpersonal skills.

  • Team-oriented thinking.

  • Strong project management skills.

  • Permanent employment authorization/U.S. citizenship.




PROGRAM DATES:



  • Summer internships will begin in May/June and last until mid-August (duration will be 10-12 weeks).
