A day in the life.



As our Risk Consultant on the Transportation team, you'll


  • Identify safety-related areas of opportunity by reviewing safety surveys, action items, and communication from clients. Assist clients in determining root cause(s), developing corrective action plans, and drafting responses to Safety Representatives.

•Summarize safety survey reports and action items for Account Managers, Producers, and Management.


•Conduct consultative visits and calls to assist clients with safety-related questions and areas of concern. Assist with development, evaluation, and implementation of programs, policies and procedures.


•Provide guidance to clients referencing state and federal regulatory requirements applicable to workplace safety governed by OSHA, DOT, EPA, and other agencies.Said guidance will include comprehensive regulatory reviews.


•Conduct focused reviews of client safety scores and key performance indicators; identifying areas of opportunity, trends, and potential resources to assist the client.


•Conduct training and other presentations on-site and via webinars to prospects, clients, staff, and management regarding loss control and/or safety topics.


•Document safety related efforts via internal database.Advise Account Manager and Producer on the status of consultative activities.


  • Attend Truck Association/Safety Council meetings and safety-focused conferences.

•Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

We'd love to meet you if your professional track record includes the following:


  • Five years of transportation industry safety experience preferred.

  • Experience and comfortability with public speaking.

  • Knowledge of DOT regulations along with desire to research in order to assist clients.

  • Knowledge of loss prevention strategies and concepts.

  • Experience/proficiency using Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.

  • The ability to communicate effectively with clients and others by telephone, in writing and in person.

  • The ability to concentrate for extended periods of time.

  • Flexibility and the ability to manage multiple shifting priorities.

  • Possession of the good judgment and discretion necessary to maintain confidence and make sound decisions.

  • The ability to work closely with others, and to contribute actively to the work group and with the organization in a productive and positive manner.

  • Overnight travel is required on an as-needed basis, and periodically on short notice.
