Job Summary:

The Quality Engineer will oversee the activity of the reverse engineering department, developing, implementing, and maintaining programs and a system of testing for the organization's products and/or development processes to ensure they meet technical standards and creating quality and safety documentation. The QA Engineers is responsible for identifying technical issues in manufacturing processes and determining the root of the problem. He or she will proactively recommend solutions to improve processes and ensure high quality products.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Produces reverse engineering data from supplied component geometry using CMM equipment.
  • Develops, implements, and manages processes and programs to ensure that products meet required specifications for quality, function, and reliability.
  • Identifies and sets appropriate quality standards and parameters for products.
  • Communicates quality standards and parameters to Quality Team, product development team, and other appropriate staff.
  • Coordinates product testing processes.
  • Participates in product testing.
  • Identifies and analyzes issues, bugs, defects, and other problems, particularly when problems recur in multiple products; recommends and facilitates solutions to these issues.
  • Reviews client, customer, and user feedback. Maintains compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and policies.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, quality, engineering, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • Three years' experience in a quality related role, preferably in the gearing industry.
  • CMM Programming and Operation (Zeiss Calypso preferred)
  • Familiarity with GD&T
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to solve complex problems and exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to support and/or lead root cause analysis, disciplined problem-solving and decision-making processes.
  • Proven leadership, interpersonal skills and personal development skills.
  • Experience in a variety of basic operation disciplines: Manufacturing, Quality, Process / Tooling and Shop Floor Supervision.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without accommodation.
