Purpose and Scope of Job:
Machine Shop Training Coordinator, is responsible for developing unique skilled training courses and programs for the machine shop. Their duties include speaking with department supervisors to determine training needs and overseeing the CNC machining apprenticeship program. The training coordinator is responsible to track and record all training data that is required, as well as monitor the training of the apprentices to determine their success throughout the program.

Essential Functions (other duties may be assigned):
Create training schedules for apprentices, track and create reports on outcomes of all training and maintain training records for the company.Communicate with management, trainers and team members to ensure that all needs are met.Train or schedule new apprentices on company policies and procedures and use the best training methods for a specific purpose or audience.Gather and evaluate information from employees and management on previous training to identify weaknesses and areas that need additional training.Attend seminars and meetings to learn new training methods and techniques and use the knowledge to prepare and coordinate future training sessions.Inform employees on scheduled training and track their progress.Recommend training materials and methods, order and maintain in-house training equipment and facilities and manage the budget set for training.Work with local colleges or universities for related technical training opportunities.Help to market the CNC apprentice program internal and external.

Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.Machine Shop technical training10 to 15 years experience in machine shop practices (manual and cnc machines)Excellent time management skills, public speaking skills, problem-solving skills and both verbal and written communication skillsProficiency in word processing and presentation softwareAbility to operate media equipment such as projectors and personal computersKnowledge about traditional and modern training methods and techniquesExceptional organization skills, leadership and interpersonal skillsAbility to work with a team and have attention to detailKnowledgeable about learning management systems, instructional design and e-learning platformsAbility to handle multiple assignments and assess and analyze dataAny additional essential skills and/or knowledge as shown in the HRIS Career & Education > Skills section for incumbents holding this job title.

Work Conditions & Physical Environment:
Duties are performed in an industrial environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; twist; bend; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee must constantly lift, carry, move, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The employee may be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud. This position is designated as safety- sensitive.
